Lake Washington is a beautifully laid out, planned community, approximately 10 miles west of Melbourne in Brevard County, and shares its name with the massive and incredibly stunning, natural lake it borders. Lake Washington is Brevard County's largest lake and is the 41st largest lake in the State of Florida. The actual lake itself spans almost 4,500 acres, and is is vital to the area as the main source of fresh water for the city of Melbourne and the surrounding communities.

To the west of town, directly on the lake, is Lake Washington Park, a picture perfect place to spend the day or watch an incredible Florida sunset over the lake. Lake Washington Park features boat ramps, a playground, pavilions for picnics and family gatherings throughout, a small pier with a covered pavilion at the end for sitting or fishing, and of course plenty of benches to watch those amazing sunsets! There are also a number of wildlife parks nearby, with Sebastian Inlet State Recreation State Park and its 3 miles of beach, just a few minutes away.

The area is obviously a fisherman's paradise, with both fresh-water and salt-water fishing all around you, just waiting for you to bait a line and reel them in. For golfers, there's Baytree National Golf Links nearby for you to enjoy whenever you want to tee off and plenty of other golf courses within a quick drive.
